The taxable valuation for 2022 for the Lockwood Sewer District Phase 1 is $3,997,411 up about $337,000 over last year’s $3,667,409, reported Lockwood Water and Sewer District (LWSD) Manager Mike Ariztia. The increased value allows the district to set a lower number of mills to be assessed against property owners in Phase 1 to pay this year’s installment of the GO Bond that was obtained to build the sewer.
The annual payment is $579,710. Ariztia recommended and the board approved setting the mills at 145, five less than last year at 150.
In other business at the board’s monthly meeting last Wednesday, they approved a contract with Morrison Maierle for services to design and oversee the bidding process for the Phase 3 sewer project. The total cost is not to exceed $1,740,036.
