Worden VFW Post 7407 named Stephanie Smith-Miller, a music teacher at Lockwood School, the Montana State Elementary Teacher of the Year, and paid a visit to her classroom on Monday, Feb. 13.
Mrs. Smith-Miller began her career nearly 27 years ago when she taught grades K-12 in Lavina, Montana, beginning in 1996. She has worked as the 3rd-5th grade music teacher – as well as the K-5 music teacher – at Lockwood since 2004. “I love this grade level and this age,” she said, “because you can do so much more with the kids… the participation factor is really high.”
