HUNTLEY – Mark Chesnutt is coming to Huntley for Homesteader Days’ Friday night entertainment, July 9.
Chesnutt is a platinum selling recording artist famous for “Bubba Shot the Jukebox,” “Too Cold at Home” and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” among other hits.
The 46-year-old Texan has made 13 albums over his career so far, with the latest release being “Rollin’ with the Flow.” He is currently working on his 14th, called “Outlaw,” with covers of favorite outlaw songs from the 1970s, expected to be released soon.
Opening for Chesnutt will be Johnny Lee, backed by the Copper Mountain Band. Lee has had a long recording career with hits including “Looking for Love,” “Cherokee Fiddle,” “Pickin’ Up Strangers” and many more on his 20-plus records.
The Copper Mountain Band is out of Troy, Mont., and has opened for such acts as Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Phil Vassar, Emerson Drive, Josh Turner and Sawyer Brown. They released their first CD in 2009 and are now touring, performing over 150 shows a year.
Following Chesnutt on Friday night will be the local favorite, Bucky Beaver Ground Grippers.
Johnny Lee and Copper Mountain Band will perform again in a longer show on Saturday, July 10, during traditional Homesteader Days.
Other local talent is expected but has not been confirmed.
