The Lockwood PTA group is closing in on their goal of $230,000 in fundraising for the Lockwood Lions Lair playground that is set to be mantled this spring/summer. Some of the equipment has already arrived at the Lockwood school and the local fundraising group and community are closing in on the last $50,000 with “Rockin for the Lair” fundraiser.
In a letter sent out to the public, It read,
With just only over $50,000 left towards their $230,000 fundraising goal to go, the Lockwood PTA is joining forces with the Midlife Chryslers to hold a party and silent auction to close in on that gap. The event is to be held at The Garage @ The Yellowstone Valley Brewing Co. on Saturday, April 2nd with doors opening at 5pm. The event is to benefit the Lion’s Lair 2.0, a community playground project in Lockwood with the only inclusive play design in Yellowstone county.
The Midlife Chryslers are a well known name in the Billings and greater area. A band originating from a few doctors playing music together to relax from their vocations, their reputation of a good time follows them. The Midlife Chryslers have been described as high energy rock n roll, that plays crowd pleasing up-beat dance music for fun packed evenings.
The silent auction portion of the event is packed with a plethora of items to choose from, with great variety from a family season pass to the Oasis, to Three sights indoor range packages, to beauty and hair options, a handmade quilt made and labeled specifically for the Lion’s Lair 2.0, Denver Broncos tickets, restaurant certificates, themed baskets, tools, memberships and so much more than can be mentioned at this time, many with a “Buy Now” option as well!
Justin Hutchinson, or “McLovin'” from Hot 1019 will also be lending his fun as he emcees the event to keep things rolling and entertaining during the evening. Justin, a Lockwood native himself, grew up playing on the original Lion’s Lair and hopes to help bring back the new one during this event.
The Lockwood PTA has been fundraising for the last couple years in order to help build another playground for the Lockwood community due to the last playground being condemned by the insurance company.
